The Widmannhof at the village entry of Klerant looks back to a century-old tradition. It traces its origins back to the 15th century. For decades, the Widmannhof was a cattle-breeding farm and a very popular guest house; today the farm focuses on biological agriculture and on the “farm holidays” as an important source of income.

For more than 250 years the Widmannhof has belonged to our family and in 1983 it was turned into a hereditary estate. In 1986 the historical part of the farm was classified as a historical monument, in particular the old farmer’s “Stube” (living room) with its Late Gothic wood-beam ceiling and the cross vaulting in the entrance hall.

The preservation of these ancient and precious artworks is a special concern to us.

Organic is not a lifestyle, but a question of attitude for us. As farm in the Brixen region we feel particularly strongly committed to conserving the resources of nature. We stand by our responsibility as producers of natural foods that not only taste great, but also bring you a good bit of Tyrol to the plate. Our farm is part of a natural setting. Preserving this and pass it on to future generations, is very important to us. Even our ancestors cultivated the same holistic approach to the land they farmed.

Therefore, we are also partners of Bioland, the leading organic farming association in Europe. The products of our farm originate exclusively from sustainable agriculture and livestock farming – as well as the aromatic fruits and crisp vegetables from our garden. On health and freshness of the products of our farm we place great value. But see by yourself during your own holiday the organic quality of our food! We offer the full, savory taste and a good conscience, to have our food produced close to nature and sustainable.

For breakfast only best quality

Try our fresh cow milk in the morning, the creamy light yoghurt and healthy eggs from happy chickens. Refine the already delicious yoghurt -fresh cheese with fresh herbs from our garden. Our fruits and vegetables we process with great attention to fruit spreads, syrups and pickled delicacies. A small but fine product area with our farm products can be found in our guest room. Daily (except on Sundays) you can enjoy fresh bread from our bakery on your breakfast table. So the day may like to start! And the excellent quality of our “Plose-water” should be emphasized – a widely esteemed drinking pleasure.
